The Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders was established in 1985. Its aim is to provide high quality care for the treatment of diabetes as well as lipid, adrenal, pituitary and thyroid disorders. The assembled staff includes Dr Jorge Mestman, a leading diabetologist with a forcus on diabetes in pregnancy and the treatment of type 1 diabetes. Also working at the Center are Dr. Vikram Kamdar, an expert in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, Dr. Peter Singer, who treats a variety of endocrine disorders, particularly thyroid disease and Evelyne Fleury-Milfort, FNP, CDE, who has worked as a diabetes educator for many years.
This center for diabetes is located on the USC Medical Center Campus at 1355 San Pablo Street, Los Angeles, CA. The center offers an integrated approach to diabetes care with an interdisciplinary team of endocrinologists, dietitian, nurse practitioner, and multispecialty physicians. Its proximity to the USC Medical Center allows for easy access to a variety of specialists, as well as to the USC University Hospital.
